Advanced Aquarium Water Purification

Arcadia Poly-Filter uses a specialist chemical filtration process to help remove dissolved pollutants that may accumulate in aquarium water over time.

These unwanted substances can originate from fish waste, uneaten food, decaying organic matter, aquarium treatments and impurities introduced through replacement water.

By reducing these contaminants, Poly-Filter helps maintain cleaner aquarium conditions and supports the performance of your existing filtration system.

Helps Remove Harmful Aquarium Pollutants

Poly-Filter is designed to help remove a wide range of unwanted substances, including:

• Ammonia
• Nitrite
• Nitrate
• Phosphates
• Proteins
• Amino Acids
• Copper
• Other Toxic Metals
• Selected Dissolved Organic Pollutants

Removing excess nutrients and pollutants can help improve water quality and reduce conditions that encourage unwanted algae growth.

Ideal for Copper Removal in Marine Aquariums

Arcadia Poly-Filter is particularly useful for helping remove unwanted copper and other toxic metals from marine aquarium water.

Copper contamination can be especially problematic in reef aquariums containing sensitive corals and invertebrates.

Poly-Filter provides an additional chemical filtration stage to help manage these contaminants.

Important: Always use a suitable water test kit to confirm copper levels when treating suspected contamination.

Colour-Changing Filter Media

One of the distinctive features of Poly-Filter is its ability to change colour as different pollutants are captured.

As the media absorbs unwanted substances, visible colour changes can occur, providing a useful indication of the contaminants being removed.

When the filter pad becomes heavily saturated and turns black, it should be replaced.

Retains Captured Pollutants

Unlike some conventional chemical filtration materials, Poly-Filter is designed to retain the unwanted substances it has captured.

According to the product information, saturated Poly-Filter does not release trapped hazardous pollutants back into aquarium water.

This provides an additional benefit when maintaining aquarium water quality.

Helps Preserve Aquarium Water Chemistry

Poly-Filter is designed to selectively remove unwanted substances while leaving desirable trace elements in the aquarium water.

It is also designed not to soften the water, making it suitable for both freshwater and marine aquarium applications.

This makes it a versatile filtration medium for aquarium keepers looking to improve water purity without unnecessarily altering important water parameters.

Easy to Cut & Install

Each Poly-Filter pad measures approximately 8 x 4 inches and can be cut to suit the shape and size of your aquarium filtration system.

The media can be placed inside a suitable filter chamber where aquarium water flows through or around it.

Smaller sections can also be used in compact aquarium environments where an appropriately sized piece can be positioned safely.

Directions for Use:

1. Identify a suitable position within your aquarium filter or water circulation system.
2. Cut the Poly-Filter pad to the required dimensions if necessary.
3. Place the media where aquarium water can pass through or around it.
4. Allow the Poly-Filter to remove unwanted dissolved substances from the water.
5. Inspect the pad regularly for colour changes and signs of saturation.
6. Replace the media when exhausted or according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
