Experience effortless clear water with Aquacadabra Barley Straw Pond. A 100% natural and safe solution, our barley straw pad controls all algae types. Simply add it to your pond and watch as it works its algae-fighting magic.

Our barley straw pad also includes added lavender and marigold, enhancing its effectiveness while being safe for all plants, fish, animals, and wildlife. Each pad provides continuous protection for up to four months for ponds up to 3000 litres (660 gallons).

Highly recommended by the Centre for Aquatic Plant Management, barley straw treatment has been used since the 1990s in the UK for controlling algae in canals, lakes, and reservoirs. Unlike chemical treatments, this natural solution is harmless to pond life and higher plants. Barley straw prevents new algal growth naturally, maintaining a stable environment without the need for algaecides which can adversely affect oxygen levels and aquatic life.

In shallow ponds, other plants can thrive as the algae diminishes, helping to sustain the ecosystem by absorbing nutrients that algae would otherwise use.

Directions for Use:

Remove any visible algae before introducing the pad. Place the pad in an area with good water circulation. In cases of heavy algae infestation, double the quantity used. Pads can be placed in a filter if submerged and without obstructing filter operation. Maintain pump operation 24/7 for optimal results. Allow 2-3 weeks for activation and add a new pad every 3-4 months as needed.
