Carbon is one of the most powerful filtration tools you can get your hands on. Its abilities in removing pollutants, colours, odours, toxic gases, and residual medications are unparalleled. However, not all carbon is created equally. Generally, the higher the quality of carbon, the better the filtration results.
Carbon's ability to capture and retain organics has traditionally caused many to avoid using it in sensitive systems such as discus habitats and reefs. Accumulated organics combine and release problematic nutrients, nitrates, and phosphates, limiting the carbon's filtering capacity.
Solving the Organics Problem:
ATM's Supernova Living Carbon combines the organic-consuming power of ATM Outbreak! with pro-grade activated carbon. Seeded with millions of beneficial bacteria and enzymes, it breaks down organics that accumulate in the carbon.
This results in longer-lasting carbon, acting as a release point for the bacteria in Outbreak! to benefit your aquatic system. Proven in public aquariums, such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Sea Life facilities, Outbreak! replaces ordinary carbon with Living Carbon.
Due to its unmatched surface area and composition, carbon is the number one choice for housing aerobic autotrophs (nitrifying bacteria) that are essential to your bio-filter. Nitrifying bacteria prefer carbon over any other media nine times out of ten. Don’t waste money on other bio-media when carbon outperforms them all.
Most carbons contain added moisture, giving you less carbon and more water. ATM Supernova Living Carbon contains zero added moisture, providing up to 40% more carbon.
For the best in oceanic industry and aquaculture products, there is no substitute.
Features:
- Removes pollutants, colours, odours, toxic gases, and medications
- Enhanced with bacteria and enzymes for superior organics control
- Long-lasting performance with zero added moisture
- Preferred housing for nitrifying bacteria
- Proven results in renowned public aquariums
Instructions:
Measure 1 cupful (114 g) of Supernova per 100 gallons (378 l) of water. Place in a filter bag or chamber and rinse well to remove dust. Position in high water flow areas of aquarium or pond. For colour and odour removal, use until water is clear. For removing therapeutic agents, use for five consecutive days and then dispose. Outbreak! bacteria are seeded deep within the carbon, so rinsing will not remove bacteria prior to installation.
