D-D Reverse Osmosis Membranes

The D-D 50 GPD and 75 GPD RO Membranes use Thin Film Composite (TFC) technology to help reduce dissolved solids, minerals and other unwanted impurities from incoming tap water.

As water passes through the semi-permeable membrane under pressure, purified water is separated from concentrated waste water, helping produce high-quality RO water for aquarium preparation.

Both membrane capacities are available individually or as part of a complete replacement filter kit.

10" Sediment Pre-Filter Cartridge

Included with Complete Filter Kit Options Only

The sediment pre-filter provides the first stage of filtration by capturing suspended particles before they reach the carbon cartridge and RO membrane.

It helps remove:

• Sand
• Silt
• Dirt
• Rust particles
• Other suspended debris

By removing physical debris, the sediment filter helps protect downstream filtration components and prolong the working life of the carbon cartridge.

Stated Cartridge Life: Approximately 8,000–10,000 gallons, depending on water quality and usage.

10" Solid Carbon Block Filter Cartridge

The solid carbon block cartridge provides chemical filtration to help reduce chlorine and selected impurities from incoming tap water.

Carbon filtration is particularly important for protecting Thin Film Composite RO membranes from chlorine exposure.

The cartridge helps reduce:

• Chlorine
• Chloramine, depending on cartridge specification and contact time
• Selected pesticides
• Selected insecticides
• Certain organic chemical impurities

This is a solid carbon block cartridge, rather than a loose granular activated carbon filter.

Stated Cartridge Life: Minimum 2,500 gallons under suitable operating conditions.

How the Complete Filter Kit Works

Stage 1 – Sediment Filtration: Helps remove suspended particles such as dirt, sand, silt and rust.

Stage 2 – Carbon Block Filtration: Helps reduce chlorine and selected chemical impurities while protecting the RO membrane.

Stage 3 – Reverse Osmosis Membrane: Helps reduce dissolved solids and minerals to produce purified water suitable for aquarium preparation.

Ideal for Aquarium Water Preparation

Reverse osmosis filtration is widely used by aquarium keepers who require greater control over the mineral content and quality of their water.

Purified RO water can be appropriately remineralised for freshwater aquariums or mixed with suitable marine salt for marine and reef aquarium systems.

Brand & Packaging: The manufacturer, appearance and packaging of the carbon and sediment cartridges may vary depending on stock availability. The supplied cartridges are sourced for compatible RO filtration systems.

Always check your existing membrane housing, cartridge dimensions and flow restrictor before ordering. A correctly matched flow restrictor is required for the selected membrane capacity.

Actual water production depends on incoming water pressure, temperature, water quality and operating conditions.

Please Note: The complete reverse osmosis unit, filter housings, pipework and flow restrictor are not included with any option.
