While there have been conversations regarding potential aluminium release, extensive testing indicates that under standard reef conditions (pH near 8), there is no detectable soluble aluminium. Even in environments with pH as low as 5.3 with triple the recommended dosage, soluble aluminium registers minimally, demonstrating the product’s safety for aquatic life, including sensitive soft-bodied corals.

Phosguard does not desorb phosphates or silicates back into the water. Continuous, minimal usage maximises its performance compared to larger doses sporadically. It may generate heat on initial contact with water, thus, pre-wetting is advised.
