The Red Sea REEF-FRAME 250 Marine Aquarium is a reef-ready aquarium system combining a 204 litre display tank with a 42 litre in-cabinet sump, providing a total system water volume of 246 litres. Featuring a 90 x 53 x 50 cm display, it offers space for creating a marine reef aquarium with live rock, corals and suitable marine fish. The system combines an ultra-clear glass aquarium, reinforced cabinet, filtration sump and integrated plumbing, allowing you to choose additional equipment to suit your reef.

Part of the Red Sea REEF-FRAME range, the aquarium features ultra-clear glass bonded with high-quality euro-silicone for long-term structural integrity. The 12 mm thick front, side and bottom glass panels are complemented by a 10 mm back panel, while eurobracing provides additional reinforcement around the aquarium. The clear viewing panels provide an unobstructed view of fish, corals and aquascaping.

The REEF-FRAME 250 is supported by a marine-spec plywood cabinet designed to support the full contour of the aquarium. Adjustable levelling feet allow the cabinet to be positioned correctly during installation, while the enclosed interior provides space for the filtration sump and associated equipment. The REEF-FRAME range is available in black, white and classic oak cabinet finishes to suit different room settings.

The aquarium incorporates a large central overflow box that conceals the plumbing and includes a surface skimmer with removable comb sections. These removable components provide convenient access for routine cleaning and maintenance. Enlarged downflow piping with a rectangular profile supports efficient water movement through the overflow while helping reduce operating noise.

The REEF-FRAME 250 features the ReefGate high-precision gate valve, allowing accurate regulation of water flowing from the display aquarium into the sump. When correctly balanced with a compatible return pump, the valve helps achieve quieter operation. Hydrodynamically designed plumbing supports water circulation, while optional metric and USA connector kits provide additional options for plumbing configurations.

A single 25 mm curved return outlet directs water from the sump back into the display aquarium. The outlet is designed to support effective water distribution and connects to a compatible return pump selected separately according to the aquarium's requirements.

The integrated 42 litre Reef Spec sump provides dedicated space for essential filtration equipment beneath the aquarium. Its protein skimmer chamber features adjustable water height, allowing the operating depth to be set according to the requirements of a compatible skimmer. An integrated bubble trap helps prevent air bubbles from being carried back into the display through the return pump.

The sump also features a removable mechanical filtration compartment, making it ReefMat-ready for the installation of a compatible Red Sea ReefMat automatic roller filter as an optional upgrade. Unlike the smaller REEF-FRAME 170, the REEF-FRAME 250 also supports an optional sump divider, allowing a dedicated refugium chamber to be incorporated into the filtration system.
