The Red Sea REEF-FRAME 500 Marine Aquarium is a large reef-ready aquarium system combining a 405 litre display tank with a 110 litre in-cabinet sump, providing a total system water volume of 515 litres. Featuring a spacious 150 x 57.5 x 50 cm display, it offers substantial room for creating a marine reef aquarium with live rock, coral colonies and suitable marine fish. The system combines an ultra-clear glass aquarium, reinforced cabinet, Reef Spec filtration sump and integrated plumbing, allowing you to select additional equipment to suit the requirements of your reef.

Part of the Red Sea REEF-FRAME range, the aquarium features ultra-clear glass bonded with high-quality euro-silicone for long-term structural integrity. The front, side, bottom and back glass panels are all 15 mm thick, providing substantial strength across the aquarium structure. Eurobracing adds further reinforcement, while the ultra-clear viewing panels provide a detailed view of fish, corals and aquascaping.

The REEF-FRAME 500 is supported by a marine-spec plywood cabinet designed to support the full contour of the aquarium. Adjustable levelling feet allow the cabinet to be positioned correctly during installation, while the enclosed interior provides space for the filtration sump and associated equipment. The REEF-FRAME range is available in black, white and classic oak cabinet finishes, offering options to complement different room settings.

The aquarium incorporates a large central overflow box that conceals the plumbing and includes a surface skimmer with removable comb sections. These removable components provide convenient access for routine cleaning and maintenance. Enlarged downflow piping with a rectangular profile supports efficient water movement through the overflow system while helping reduce operating noise.

The REEF-FRAME 500 features the ReefGate high-precision gate valve, allowing accurate regulation of water flowing from the display aquarium into the sump. When correctly balanced with a compatible return pump, the valve helps achieve quieter operation. Hydrodynamically designed plumbing supports efficient water circulation, while optional metric and USA connector kits provide additional options for plumbing configurations.

The REEF-FRAME 500 features two 25 mm curved return outlets, allowing returning water to be distributed through two points in the display aquarium. These dual outlets support either single- or dual-pump plumbing configurations, providing flexibility when selecting compatible return pumps and planning water circulation.

The integrated 110 litre Reef Spec sump provides dedicated space for essential filtration equipment beneath the aquarium. Its protein skimmer chamber features adjustable water height, allowing the operating depth to be set according to the requirements of a compatible skimmer. An integrated bubble trap helps prevent air bubbles from being carried back into the display aquarium through the return pump.

The sump also includes a removable mechanical filtration compartment, making it ReefMat-ready for installation of a compatible Red Sea ReefMat automatic roller filter as an optional upgrade. An optional sump divider can also be fitted to create a dedicated refugium chamber, providing additional flexibility for biological filtration and nutrient management.
