The Red Sea REEF-FRAME MAX 350 Marine Aquarium is a complete reef aquarium system combining a 282 litre display tank with a 71 litre in-cabinet sump, providing a manufacturer-rated total system water volume of 353 litres. Its 120 x 55 x 50 cm display offers space for creating a marine aquascape with live rock, coral colonies and suitable marine fish. Part of the REEF-FRAME range, the MAX 350 combines the aquarium, reinforced cabinet, filtration sump and plumbing with a comprehensive package of lighting, circulation, filtration and aquarium monitoring equipment.
The REEF-FRAME range combines ultra-clear glass construction, eurobracing and marine-spec plywood cabinets designed to support the full contour of the aquarium. With a 120 cm display length, the MAX 350 provides room for arranging multiple rockwork structures, developing coral colonies and maintaining open swimming areas. The 55 cm front-to-back dimension allows depth within the aquascape, while the in-cabinet sump keeps the main filtration equipment beneath the display.
The display aquarium measures 120 cm long, 55 cm wide and 50 cm high. Its ultra-clear front glass is 12 mm thick, the side panels are 15 mm thick, the bottom glass is 12 mm thick and the back glass is 12 mm thick. Eurobracing reinforces the upper perimeter for additional structural strength, while high-quality euro-silicone bonds the glass panels for long-term structural integrity.
The aquarium is supported by a marine-spec plywood cabinet designed to support the full contour of the glass structure. Adjustable levelling feet allow the cabinet to be positioned correctly during installation. REEF-FRAME cabinets are available in black, white and classic oak finishes, providing a choice of appearances for different interiors.
The REEF-FRAME MAX 350 features a central overflow box that conceals the aquarium plumbing. A large surface skimmer collects water from the display, while removable comb sections provide convenient access for cleaning. Enlarged downflow pipes with a rectangular flow profile are designed to reduce turbulence and promote quieter water movement through the system.
The ReefGate high-precision gate valve allows accurate regulation of water flowing from the display into the sump. Adjusting the valve helps balance the downflow against the return pump, reducing operating noise. Hydrodynamic piping supports efficient water circulation, while optional metric and USA connector kits allow compatible plumbing modifications.
Two 25 mm curved return outlets direct water back into the display aquarium. The plumbing supports single- or dual-return-pump configurations, allowing flexibility if the return system is changed in the future. The MAX package includes one ReefRun G2 6000 return pump, providing adjustable flow between 3,600 and 6,500 litres per hour, a maximum head height of 4.4 metres and power consumption of 22–56 W. The pump includes local flow control, with ReefBeat integration available through a compatible ReefRun Dual Controller.
The integrated 71 litre Reef Spec sump provides dedicated space for mechanical filtration, protein skimming and the return pump. Its skimmer chamber has an adjustable operating water height, allowing the level to be set according to the requirements of the supplied protein skimmer. A bubble trap helps prevent air bubbles from returning to the display, while the removable mechanical filtration compartment allows convenient installation of a compatible ReefMat automatic roller filter. An optional sump divider can also be used to create a dedicated refugium chamber.
The MAX 350 includes one ReefMat 500 automatic roller filter, rated for aquarium systems up to 500 litres. It has a maximum flow capacity of 6,000 litres per hour and uses an 11.3 cm wide fleece roll measuring 28 metres in length. The unit measures 21 x 27 x 42 cm and automatically advances the fleece as it collects waste. ReefBeat connectivity provides filter usage monitoring and replacement notifications, helping simplify routine mechanical filtration maintenance.
Lighting is provided by two ReefLED G2 115 units with mounting arms. Each light features a 115 W LED array, providing a combined rated lighting power of 230 W. The lights offer an adjustable 10,000–23,000 K spectrum and a separate 3 W moonlight channel per unit. Published lighting performance figures include PAR values of 500 at the water surface and 150 at a depth of 50 cm. ReefBeat control allows customised lighting schedules, acclimation programmes and lunar cycles, providing flexibility when setting lighting conditions for the aquarium's inhabitants.
Water movement is supported by two ReefWave 25 circulation pumps, each providing a maximum flow rate of 7,500 litres per hour with power consumption of 4–25 W. The pumps are recommended for aquariums measuring 45–120 cm in length and are compatible with glass up to 15 mm thick. Each pump has a 3 metre cable, providing flexibility when positioning the pumps and routing their power connections.
The supplied REEFER DC 600 protein skimmer removes dissolved organic waste from aquarium water. It features a water flow rate of 1,500 litres per hour, an air intake of 750 litres per hour, power consumption of 25 W and an overall height of 56 cm. The skimmer uses a Sicce PSK DC-1200 pump and includes automatic self-levelling, foam-wetness monitoring and collection-cup waste-level monitoring to support consistent operation.
The REEF-FRAME MAX 350 includes ReefControl Pro with a pH/temperature probe and a ReefControl automatic top-up (ATO) module. ReefControl Pro supports up to seven compatible digital ReefSense probes or sensors, providing live readings, historical logs and notifications. The supplied probe provides temperature-compensated pH measurement with a stated accuracy of 0.05 pH and precision of 0.01 pH, alongside temperature measurement accurate to 0.05°C.
The ReefControl ATO module uses solid-state water-level detection to identify evaporation losses and activate freshwater replacement. Its integrated temperature sensor has a stated accuracy of 0.1°C. The supplied ATO pump provides a maximum flow rate of 300 litres per hour, a maximum head height of 2.5 metres and power consumption of 6–10 W. An installation kit includes the sensor bracket, pump, siphon breaker, tube holder and 3 metres of silicone tubing.
A slide-out control panel 25 is also included, providing a dedicated mounting area for aquarium controllers and compatible electrical equipment within the cabinet. This helps organise the monitoring and filtration controls while keeping them accessible for routine adjustments and maintenance.
